YVR Statement on expanded air transport agreement between Canada and Vietnam

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) welcomes the Government of Canada’s announcement of a first ever Air Transport Agreement between Canada and Vietnam allowing direct air service between the two countries. This is an important development that creates new opportunities to strengthen connections between Canada and one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing markets.
Direct air service between Canada and Vietnam would provide more convenient travel options, support tourism and trade, and strengthen economic ties.
As Canada’s Pacific gateway to Asia and beyond, YVR is working to support opportunities to strengthen air connectivity with Southeast Asia and meet the growing demand for travel and trade between our regions.
