Recognizing National Volunteer Week and celebrating our own

Sunday April 14 – Saturday, April 20 marks National Volunteer Week in Canada. From our incredible Green Coats, to our employees who dedicate time in their busy schedules to lend a hand, we are so grateful for the support of volunteers in our community!

To recognize the many different ways volunteers give back to our community, from April 16-20 our Airport Tower will be illuminated red in support of National Volunteer Week and the countless hours of impact dedicated by volunteers across Canada.

Thank you to our YVR Green Coat Volunteers!

On behalf of the entire YVR team, we would like to express our appreciation for the Green Coat volunteers who support thousands of passengers each day. This fantastic group of customer service ambassadors have been a YVR staple to the passenger experience for 35 years! Our Green Coat volunteers handle unique requests with ease and provide a sense of calm and comfort when needed.

If you’re travelling soon through YVR, look for our Green Coat volunteers stationed throughout the terminal to point you in the right direction and get you on your way.

YVR Employees Volunteering in Action

Being able to give back is an important part of our wellbeing and our employee culture here at YVR. Just last year YVR employees tracked over 2100 volunteer hours in 2024!

During this year’s #NationalVolunteerWeek, our employees are set to dedicate over 125 hours collectively to non-profit organizations including ReFood Canada, A Better Life Foundation and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
