Celebrating our 2025 winner: Vivian Chan

As part of the Canadian Airports Council’s Airport Workers Day, nine airport workers from across the country are recognized with a national award that celebrates their dedication and contribution to our industry. For the past three years, YVR colleagues have proudly been among those recognized, including Vivian Chan as the Industry Champion Award in 2025.

In 2025, YVR’s Vivian Chan was recognized with the Canadian Airport’s Council Industry Champion Award—a fitting honour for someone who has spent more than 20 years helping keep our airport moving safely each day.

As Manager, Airport Capacity, Vivian oversees a complex balancing act by ensuring airlines have the space and resources they need to land, park, and welcome passengers, baggage, and cargo through YVR safely and efficiently. It's a role that requires equal parts expertise, planning, and collaboration.

While Vivian is a widely respected leader in her field, those who work alongside Vivian know her for something else—the way she brings people together. By embodying YVR’s value of teamwork, Vivian champions a culture built on collaboration, encouraging colleagues to problem-solve, share ideas, and support one another to deliver the best outcomes.

Airports are among the most complex operating environments in the country, requiring thousands of workers just like Vivian, to work together seamlessly every day.
