Welcome back: YVR holds first in-person APM since pandemic

Today, YVR hosted its 2023 Annual Public Meeting. This was our first in-person APM since the pandemic and was an opportunity for employees, partners and other stakeholders to review the 2022 Annual & Sustainability Report and hear directly from senior leadership about YVR’s performance over the past year.

The meeting opened with a traditional welcome from Councillor Brett Sparrow of the Musqueam Indian Band followed by presentations from Vancouver Airport Authority’s Chair, Board of Directors, Annalisa King and President & CEO Tamara Vrooman.

Both of their speeches highlighted events and milestones for YVR in 2022 – which include more than doubling passenger numbers in this year of travel recovery, our continued focus on cargo, global supply chain and innovation, our efforts and commitment to climate action, advancing together with Musqueam toward the path of reconciliation, welcoming over 10 new food and beverage partners, investing in our community and people and becoming a certified Living Wage Employer – while acknowledging challenges and committing to the implementation of the action plan following the findings from the After-Action Review and Public Engagement.

Here is a look back at some of highlights at YVR in 2022:

The APM serves as an opportunity for the community to come together and connect . As always, we encouraged people to ask questions – both in person and online – and appreciated the interest and enthusiasm that community members have for our airport and its future.
