Airlines must also demonstrate a commitment to quieter operations, including:</span></p><ul><li><span>Use of quieter aircraft models</span></li><li><span>Taking flight paths and runways designed to avoid flying over communities whenever possible</span></li><li><span>Minimizing reverse thrust and night-time operations where possible</span></li></ul><p><span>Noise management varies significantly by aircraft type, which is why the Fly Quiet Awards are presented in three distinct categories. This approach allows for a fair and meaningful comparison among aircraft with different acoustic profiles:</span></p><ul><li><span><strong>Propeller aircraft:</strong> Typically quieter but still monitored closely for noise abatement compliance</span></li><li><span><strong>Narrow-body jets:</strong> Common on short-haul routes; performance depends on aircraft design and operational practices</span></li><li><span><strong>Wide-body jets:</strong> Larger aircraft with greater noise potential, evaluated with more stringent criteria due to their broader community impact</span></li></ul><p style="margin-left:.25in;"><span>We are proud to recognize the following winners of the 20th Annual YVR Fly Quiet Awards:</span></p><ul><li><span><strong>Jazz Aviation</strong> (Propeller Aircraft Category)</span></li><li><span><strong>Porter Airlines</strong> (Narrow-body Jet Category)</span></li><li><span><strong>All Nippon Airways</strong> (Wide-body Jet Category)</span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><img style="aspect-ratio:800/auto;" src="https://content.presspage.com/uploads/2978/ab0dea7f-3823-4086-8019-6a6a953f037f/jazzaviation.jpg?x=1753375510883" alt="Jazz Aviation" width="800" height="auto"><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>Jazz Aviation</strong></span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><img style="aspect-ratio:800/auto;" src="https://content.presspage.com/uploads/2978/8f3d5f8b-75c0-48cd-94d6-dc7b00e778c9/porterairlines.jpg?x=1753375899336" alt="Porter Airlines" width="800" height="auto"><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>Porter Airlines</strong></span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><img style="aspect-ratio:800/auto;" src="https://content.presspage.com/uploads/2978/53981dad-f06c-4cbd-8d4c-804ac431774f/allnippomairways.jpg?x=1753375931959" alt="All Nippom Airways" width="800" height="auto"><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>All Nippon Airways</strong></p><p><span>Vancouver Airport Authority is committed to managing airport noise, while balancing the community’s need for safe, convenient 24-hour air travel with enjoyable urban living.
