Plan Ahead: Black Friday Travel Tips

Travelling through YVR on Friday and this weekend? Or taking advantage of Black Friday sales at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet? If so, we’ve put together a few top tips for the busy weekend ahead. We have a comprehensive plan in place but we are expecting heavy congestion throughout the day on Friday as well as over the weekend.

Have a Parking Plan

If you’re driving to the airport, have a parking plan. Travellers can pre-book at yvr.ca/parking. For those planning to use the Value Long Term lot, adjacent to Templeton Station, be aware that you may face lengthier delays due to its close proximity to McArthurGlen.

Take the Canada Line

If possible, leave your car at home and take the Canada Line. For travellers, Canada Line's YVR Airport station is centrally located between our International and Domestic Terminals. As you exit the train, turn left for domestic flights and right for U.S. and international flights. And for shoppers, McArthurGlen is only steps away from Canada Line's Templeton Station.

Leave Extra Time

It doesn't matter your transportation mode - leave ample time to arrive at YVR or McArthurGlen. Also, it's important to remember that traffic patterns around the airport may change to help mitigate delays. Please monitor traffic reports, obey traffic signs and traffic management personnel.

Finally, while everyone wants to get where they are going as quick as they can, safety is our top priority. We appreciate you packing your patience!
