ILS Flight Checks

NAV CANADA will be conducting flight checks on the Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) for our South Runway (Runway 26R and 08L) on Tuesday, September 15. ILS provides critical navigational information to aircraft on approach to assist with landings. Routine maintenance and flight checks of the ILS are a regulatory requirement to ensure the system meets stringent certification standards prescribed by Transport Canada. 

Those near the airport may notice a small jet aircraft flying at low altitudes circling the airport. This aircraft will be performing the simulated approaches for the ILS checks.  

Please note that the date is subject to change due to operational reasons or poor weather conditions.
